Manchesters in Dock Diving

Dock Diving is a high-energy sport where dogs leap from a dock into a body of water in pursuit of a toy, competing for distance, height, or speed depending on the event format. It celebrates confidence, athleticism, and a dog’s willingness to launch enthusiastically into the water. Events are exciting for both participants and spectators, with dogs competing individually while handlers encourage from the dock.

Competitions typically include Distance Jump (Big Air), Vertical Jump, and Speed Retrieve, each highlighting different aspects of a dog’s drive and physical ability. While Dock Diving is most commonly associated with water-loving retrievers, many dogs of other breeds participate successfully, particularly those with strong toy drive and confidence. For Manchester Terriers who enjoy swimming and chasing, dock diving can be a fun and engaging challenge.

Dock Diving is governed by several well-established organizations, most notably North America Diving Dogs (NADD) and DockDogs, both of which sanction events across the United States and internationally. Titles earned through these organizations may also be recorded with the American Kennel Club through its title recognition programs.
